Standard Edition
PRMSI PIPA Standard Edition uses the standard editions of Microsoft BizTalk® Server and SQL Server. Two virtual machines are always deployed, one each for these products. Optionally, two further virtual machines may be deployed for primary and backup domain controllers.

For the virtual machines to be successfully deployed it may be necessary to raise the subscription quota limit for the maximum number of cores. This can be achieved by creating a support request in the Azure® portal. For more details please
follow this link to microsoft.com.

When deploying PRMSI PIPA Standard Edition the main choice is to create a new virtual network or select an existing one. An existing virtual network must already have a domain controller and Active Directory. Choosing an existing virtual network is the best option if Microsoft Dynamics® GP is already installed in that network.

If a new virtual network is selected, then the primary and backup domain controllers are created and there is the option to automatically install Azure Bastion and Azure Application Gateway.

Azure Bastion provides secure remote access to the BizTalk server. This is necessary to use BizTalk applications such as the Business Rules Composer and Administration Console. Azure Bastion can be manually installed into an existing virtual network, for more details please
follow this link to microsoft.com.

Azure Application Gateway secures web services that are the default interface to PRMSI PIPA. This interface is used by the demonstration XML Client. Alternatively, an Azure service bus can also provide secure access over the internet. This requires configuration within BizTalk which is covered in documentation provided by PRMSI.

If an Azure Application Gateway is selected when deploying PRMSI PIPA Standard Edition then an SSL certificate is required in the form of a .PFX file. Some certificate authorities do not issue in this format so conversion is required, for more information please
follow this link to microsoft.com.

Azure Application Gateway can be manually installed into an existing virtual network. For more details please
follow this link to microsoft.com. Documentation is provided by PRMSI covering the additional configuration required.
